OCCares is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising up socially conscious youth through "PROJECT Y", a Youth Social Entrepreneurship Program.

VISION

To educate and inspire the next generation of Social Entrepreneurs as Compassionate Agents of Change.

MISSION

To provide students with the vision necessary to identify the needs in their communities and to prepare them with the essential business skills they need to address those needs with a social impact.

WHY US

OCCares provides a framework under which the students can earn meaningful service hours while learning philanthropy and practical business skills. Compassion and leadership skills empower our youth. U.S. colleges are looking for students who are:

• Committed to a project or cause for one to three years

• Involved in service that extends beyond short term service through their school or local charity

• Vested in socially conscious activities that demonstrate social impact achieved

HOW IT WORKS

OCCares partners with UCI and Pepperdine University to develop curriculums to educate the youth on what social entrepreneurship is and how they can make an impact in their communities. Additionally, OCCares acts as the conduit between schools, students, and vetted non-profit organizations to support the local communities by:

• Educating the youth on the The Social Enterprise Spectrum - from philanthropy to social entrepreneurship - utilizing exclusive online courses developed by UCI & Pepperdine University.

• Enhancing leadership and business skills through relevant classes, mentorship, shadowing & internship opportunities

• Assisting the students in developing OCCares Social Entrepreneurship Clubs in their schools. The Clubs:

  • Identify the needs and social issues in their communities

  • Select a cause and non-profit organization to support

  • Create a plan to use the leadership and business skills they learned to raise funds and awareness for their chosen cause(s) and organization(s).
